I've posted previously about my last wishes - including details of my wake. I've been working on a playlist for the wake for years now. The songs have both a strong correlation to my life and my thoughts on life. A few times a year, I find myself adding a song or two and deleting a song or two. Behind the cut is the current list (in a vague order from uptempo to downtempo).

Prince – “Let’s Go Crazy”

Violent Femmes – “Blister in the Sun”

Pixies - "Monkey Gone to Heaven"

The Lemonheads - "Bit Part"

Howard Jones – “Life in One Day”

XTC - “Grass”

Bjork - “Hyperballad”

Barenaked Ladies – “Unfinished”

Ben Folds Five - “Underground”

Pixies “Wave of Mutilation (uptempo version)”

Joe Jackson - “Steppin' Out”

XTC - “The Wheel and the Maypole”

The Grays – “Very Best Years”

Double Trouble & Susan Tedeschi – “In the Garden”

Beatles – “In My Life”

Beach Boys – “God Only Knows”

“How Great Thou Art”
(this version by Yolanda Adams)

Violent Femmes – “Good Feeling”

Crowded House – “All I Ask”

Jamiroquai - "Spend a Lifetime"
(Please forgive the visuals.)

Jeff Buckley – “Last Goodbye”

"God Only Knows" is one of my favorite songs in the whole universe. We actually used it as part of the incidental music at our wedding. That song is so breathtakingly gorgeous; the soaring harmonies and the simple lyric... there are truly no words to explain how much I love this song.
